A unit for hygienic life, built around the women who run it
The dream to live together and to do something for Society — a hope for the common people that "Support Means Success".
Shri Saurav Kumar Lenka from Cuttack (established in Bangalore), Smt. Bijayalaxmi Behera from Kendrapara, and Shri Sangram Pradhan from Koraput (established in Malaysia) came together with the idea to make disposable leaf plate units from Sal and Siali leaves. With support of BLF member of Derabish Block.
The unit is capable of fulfilling the requirements of sustainable, eco-friendly tableware while empowering rural and tribal communities in Odisha. Work happens close to home so that earning income doesn't mean leaving family or village behind.
- Replace single-use plastic with leaves that return safely to the soil
- Give rural women a steady, local source of income
- Keep traditional leaf-craft skills alive for the next generation
- Connect tribal and rural producers with urban buyers and institutions
- Reduce the need for manpower migration out of Derabish
Our Goal
To establish a communication link between tribal and urban communities over livelihood development — helping our planet through positive social and environmental impact without manpower migration.
